Parents & Caregivers – Stay and Connect During AIM!
Parents and caregivers are invited to stay for the Parent & Caregiver Session which will take place in a conference room at the Brookline Teen Center.
Irina Cain, Transition Manager at the Institute for Community Inclusion at UMass Boston, will be joining us for the April AIM Meetup to present about the Massachusetts Inclusive Postsecondary Education (MAIPSE) initiative.
The MAIPSE initiative provides state-wide grants, training, and technical assistance to support the development of college partnerships with K-12 districts and adult state agencies. These partnerships offer support for students with developmental disabilities to attend college, including participating in inclusive courses and employment training, and college events. This session will highlight the pathways for access to these initiatives, the difference between college and K-12 supports, and how students can prepare to engage in this opportunity.
*Please note, AIM Meetups ARE drop off events. Parents and caregivers are not obligated to stay for the Parent & Caregiver Session.
On April 21st, Team MDSC will take on the 26.2 trek from Hopkinton to Copley Square.
