Since its inception, MDSC has been committed to building a safe, accessible, and inclusive community for all families, regardless of an individual’s race, ethnicity, culture, religion, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender identification or level of disability. Our anti-bias philosophy is prevalent throughout the organization and has become embedded into all our events, activities, publications and communications.

MDSC understands that to be committed to inclusion and diversity means to be committed to constant growth, intentional connection, and learning. To that end, MDSC has a dedicated Diversity Outreach Task Force, which meets regularly to explore how to encourage inclusion and remove barriers to participation in MDSC activities.

Multi-Cultural Diversity Events

Throughout the year, the MDSC hosts diversity events including a potluck dinner, a picnic and a get-together at the annual statewide conference.

These events are intended to encourage our veteran families of diverse backgrounds to remain connected, welcome new families into our community and allow everyone from all backgrounds to get to know each other better.

“Diversity is not about how we differ. Diversity is about embracing one another’s uniqueness.” —Ola Joseph
